"Wabi-sabi
is a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete It is a beauty of things modest and humble It is a beauty of things unconventional" |

There is always a healthy
debate as to what is and what is not Wabi-Sabi.
I'm sure that there are
plenty of people out there that would say that my photography is not Wabi-Sabi.
I would say that some of these images are and some are not. My work when taken as whole
reflects a love of history and the eternal while also conveying optimism for the
future. |

All of the images are of
objects or scenes in their respective natural environments using available
natural light with an occasional flash. Many of the images are displayed mostly full framed.
In other words, there is little or no cropping done to most of the images. Color
enhancement is kept to minimum only to bring out what is natural to the image. These photos, taken over 20
years of travel, attempt to capture the essence of the location, transporting
you to a familiar place and giving you the feeling of being there even if you
have never been there before. Contact Bobby Wabi Sabi at 818.887.6254 or wabisabi@earthlink.net |
